Workplace Hearing Programs
Occupational and Employee Hearing Testing in Metro Atlanta
We provide on-site and mobile hearing testing for employers, commercial drivers, public-safety professionals and municipalities across Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County and Metro Atlanta — built around your schedule, not the other way around.

For employers and safety managers
If your workforce is exposed to hazardous noise, drives commercially, or works in public safety, hearing testing is likely part of your compliance picture — and it’s often easier to arrange than employers expect. We can test on-site at your location, bring our mobile unit to a warehouse or job site, or see employees individually at our Lawrenceville clinic.
- Manufacturing, warehousing, construction and industrial employers with noise-exposed workers
- Commercial drivers needing the hearing-test component of a DOT-related qualification process
- Police, fire and other public-safety departments
- Municipalities and organizations running employee health fairs

Screening or an occupational audiogram?
A basic hearing screening can flag whether an employee should be referred for further testing, but an employer’s hearing-conservation program may require a documented audiogram performed under the applicable testing and recordkeeping requirements. We will confirm the requested testing protocol before scheduling. Employers remain responsible for determining and administering their complete compliance program. See OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95.
Baseline Audiogram
Establishes an employee’s starting hearing levels, generally obtained within six months of covered noise exposure; OSHA permits up to one year when a mobile test van is used, with required hearing protection after six months until the baseline is completed.
Annual Audiogram
Recurring testing compared against the baseline to watch for a Standard Threshold Shift over time.
Exit / Fit-for-Duty
Testing at separation or as part of a fit-for-duty evaluation, depending on your program’s requirements.

About OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 and Standard Threshold Shift
OSHA’s Hearing Conservation Standard requires employers with workers exposed to hazardous noise levels to provide audiometric testing, among other program elements. A Standard Threshold Shift (STS) is a defined change in hearing compared to an employee’s baseline that can trigger specific employer responsibilities under the standard. We provide the testing and documentation piece of a hearing conservation program; we don’t certify overall OSHA compliance, since that depends on your full program, not testing alone.

Preparing for your on-site visit
- Confirm the applicable testing standard (OSHA hearing conservation, DOT, department-specific, etc.)
- Provide an approximate employee count and preferred testing window
- If testing will occur inside your facility, identify a potential room that can be measured and verified against the applicable audiometric test-room requirements; a room that merely seems quiet may not qualify
- Gather baseline records for employees who have been tested previously
- Designate a point of contact to coordinate scheduling on the day
Frequently Asked Questions
Which employees typically need occupational hearing testing?
Common groups include employees covered by workplace hearing-conservation programs, commercial drivers needing a hearing test as one part of a qualification process, and public-safety personnel tested under applicable agency standards.
What is a baseline audiogram?
A baseline audiogram establishes an employee’s starting hearing levels, typically obtained within six months of first noise exposure, and future tests are compared against it.
Can testing be performed at our workplace?
Yes, we offer both on-site testing at your facility and mobile audiometric testing using our dedicated unit.
What is a Standard Threshold Shift?
It’s a defined change in an employee’s hearing compared to their baseline that can trigger specific employer responsibilities under OSHA’s hearing conservation standard.
How long does employee hearing testing take?
Individual tests are typically brief; total time on-site depends on how many employees are being tested and whether groups can be tested in sequence.
What should we prepare before on-site testing?
Confirm the applicable testing standard, employee count and preferred testing window. If testing will occur inside your facility, the room must be evaluated against the applicable audiometric test-room requirements; a room that simply seems quiet may not qualify.
